This website is set in the Omphales typeset family, including the oldstyle, italic, and blackletter, which was created by the author specifically for the Werld. Omphales emulates many of the characteristics of early printed books, having an irregular baseline and variable characters. For instance, each container and serif from every character that has one has dozens of different forms, most subtle, some extreme. Try seeing how many different forms of the letter e you can find!

Nb. The italics were always intended to be handset and refined manually. I’m working on creating a web-specific version, but until that’s ready, spacing and some alternate characters might appear off.

The Werld was first started in 2009. This website was first started in 2026. All content is copyright Alexandra Þóra Post, ece Allie Eldenflax unless explicitly noted.

Collaborative help and additional writing by Ian Boyle, ece Ean Tongue-taker, especially on Oslee, Awland, and environs; the Golden Mouse; and Percey firs-Roye and his famous journal, edited by Edmig Staine.

A very special thanks to John, Kenny, and Matt, who were the poor PCs in the Pathfinder game I DMed that would eventually become the Werld, and were instrumental in shaping what I saw as something very special in an otherwise generic fantasy world I slapped together (I’ll forever be in debt to John for first saying “Father’s Balls”). Likewise, my infinite gratitude goes out to Ulf, who without I’d still be sitting in diapers pissing myself.
